The Republican Student Subject Olympiad is an annual competition held by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan among students of higher educational institutions. The Olympiad is held within the framework of the Republican Student Olympiads in order to identify the development of special professional abilities of future specialists and is one of the factors to support talented students, as well as to form a team to participate in national and international Olympiads.

The main goals and objectives of the Olympiad are as follows:

• stimulating learning and research activities of students;
• disclosure of professional and personal potential of students, their self-awareness, creative abilities, creation of conditions for self-realization and self-assertion;
• education of students’ civic position;
• selection and support of the most talented and gifted students;
• developing an active professional attitude towards improving the education system.
